Peplum Jacket with Lace Trim

Well it's been a long time since I posted something. Even though I have been sewing, it's been a while since I've taken photos of something I've made. I had a couple of minutes before I had to go to uni the other day which proved to be a perfect opportunity to take photos of this jacket I made almost a year ago.
The pattern I used was McCalls 5936

The lace trim was something I had seen on an Anthropologie blazer and I thought it was a really cute detail. And I just love the peplum silhouette. Of the construction details I can't remember much of because it was quite a while ago that I made it. I think I may have lengthened the bodice/dropped the waist seam. Not quite sure though.
Peeking Lace Blazer from Anthropologie

It's pretty cute and comfortable and dresses up an outfit quite nicely.

I really wish I had added inside pockets or any sort of pocket really. The lack of pocket can be very frustrating sometimes!
Also sorry for the slightly grumpy expressions, I swear I wasn't grumpy or upset at all, I just look like that sometimes :(
Here are some detail shots :)
buttons!! aren't they cute!

lace details and wonky topstitching :P

More lace details and slightly less wonky topstitching
Anyway I should head to bed, up early tomorrow morning. Good night!!

  3. Hi Ms. Nadia,

My name is Masera Ahmed and I am currently a senior taking Fashion in high school. I am part of the FCCLA-Fashion. Every year FCCLA has a fashion competition where students have to design, sew, and model something they made. This year I would like to make the mccalls pattern 5936, but it is out of print. I checked amazon, ebay, and called McCalls. I know this is a lot to ask, but would you be willing to send me you copy of the pattern with directions? I would really appreciate it and send the pattern right back to you, once I made the garment. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

    Masera
